Hey all you cool cats and kittens, My name is Logan, and I am the new Bergen County editor for Patch. I am so excited to start this next chapter in my life and experience all that Bergen County has to offer. Only 25 years young, I have lived in numerous states, including my beloved home state of Mississippi for 22 years, New York, Wyoming, Maryland, and soon, I will be living in New Jersey. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2019, and, believe it or not, Columbia University in New York, with a master's degree in journalism in 2020, the year, of course, the dreaded coronavirus took hold. Despite my Ivy League degree, I struggled to find a job in the highly competitive field of journalism amid a global pandemic, that is, until that fall, when opportunity came out of the blue to report for a small town newspaper in Wyoming. There, I developed an affinity for local news and serving local communities, and that started me on the path that led me to Maryland and now New Jersey. Still a backwoods bumpkin with a Southern accent, I am looking forward to working with the communities of Bergen County, to learn and make connections, and immerse myself in the local culture and history.
