JOHNSTON, RI — A Johnston man admitted in federal court to selling thousands of fentanyl pills, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Rhode Island District said.
Johnathan King, 31, pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and distribution of 400 or more grams of fentanyl.
King admitted that on May 25, 2021, he arranged to sell and have delivered 4,000 fentanyl pills to a person, who was under surveillance of the Rhode Island DEA Drug Task Force. King sold the same person an additional 1,000 fentanyl pills on two dates in June 2021.
King has been detained since his arrest on July 20, 2021. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 13. King faces a minimum sentence of at least 10 years in prison, five years of supervised release and a potential fine of $10 million.
