BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man is facing multiple charges stemming from the possession of child pornography, according to Maryland State Police. Neal Patrick Garith, 39, has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. He is also facing related child pornography charges in Oklahoma, police said. He is being held without bond at the Baltimore City Detention Center. In June 2022, the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit said it received an investigative referral from Homeland Security Investigations in Oklahoma to look into a child exploitation investigation initiated by detectives of the Garvin County Sheriff's Office in Oklahoma. Police said Garith was wanted on an outstanding Oklahoma arrest warrant for charges that included distribution of child pornography, conspiracy to distribute child pornography and violations of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. At about 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Maryland State Police, with assistance from the Baltimore Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations, arrested Garith at the 400 block of East 30th Street in Baltimore. Investigators said they seized electronic devices from the suspect and during a subsequent search warrant at the suspect's Baltimore residence. Preliminary forensic analysis by MSP Digital Forensic Examiners revealed multiple child pornography files on Garith's electronic devices. Troopers said they are continuing to work with Garvin County detectives as the investigation continues. Anyone with information relating to the identity of a child that may have been victimized by Garith is asked to contact Maryland State Police at 410-694-4773.
