Press release from the Sedgwick County Government: June 6, 2022 COVID-19 Overall Case Count Confirmed cases as of noon June 6, 2022 (U.S. cases: Johns Hopkins University & Medicine; Kansas and counties cases: Kansas Department of Health & Environment; Sedgwick County Cases: Sedgwick County Health Department) *Sedgwick County's data reflects people who test positive with nasopharyngeal (NP) swab, oropharyngeal (throat) swab, or saliva molecular testing (confirmed COVID-19 cases). The KDHE dashboard differs because it also includes people who are IgM antibody test or antigen test positive if they are linked to a confirmed case or if they have COVID-19 symptoms. **Beginning May 18, KDHE will only update their COVID-19 dashboard once a week on Wednesdays No-Cost, COVID-19 Testing Sedgwick County Health Department provides COVID-19 tests for uninsured adults, uninsured children, and children with CHIP or Medicaid/KanCare. Eligible individuals are tested by appointment only at SCHD's Main Clinic (2716 W. Central). To make a testing appointment, call 316-660-7300. To self-report at-home COVID-19 test results, visit https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/sampling-and-testing-information/covid-19-at-home-test-self-reporting-website/ SCHD will provide up-to-date quarantine and isolation guidance to people who submit positive results and to people who test negative but were a close contact of someone with COVID-19. Other vaccination providers are required to report vaccination doses given to KDHE, not Sedgwick County. . Sedgwick County Health Department COVID-19 Vaccine Information SCHD offers no-cost COVID-19 vaccine to uninsured adults, uninsured children and children covered by the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid/KanCare at its Main Clinic, 2716 W. Central. Eligible individuals can call 316-660-7300 to make an appointment. Sedgwick County provides Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine (for people 5 and older) or one-dose Johnson and Johnson (for people 18 and older) at walk-in clinics across the County. Comirnaty/Pfizer – fully approved COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 16 and older Pfizer – under emergency use authorization (EUA) for individuals 5 to 15 years old and for the administration of a third dose in certain individuals with weakened immune systems Johnson and Johnson (J&J) – under emergency use authorization for individuals 18 and older who cannot receive or choose not to receive the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. You are not considered fully vaccinated until two weeks after receiving your vaccination: One shot for Johnson and Johnson vaccine Second shot for Comirnaty/Pfizer vaccines Everyone, especially minors, are encouraged to eat a meal or snack prior to arriving to prevent any nausea that may occur following vaccination. If you are receiving a vaccine, the Sedgwick County Health Department recommends staying well hydrated before and after receiving your dose. SCHD provides the following COVID-19 vaccine booster doses: For people 5 and older, a Pfizer booster 5 months or more after a second Pfizer dose. For people 18 and older, a Pfizer booster 5 months or more after their second dose of Moderna vaccine or two months or more after receiving J&J vaccine. SCHD provides second booster doses of Pfizer vaccine to the following groups: People ages 50 and older who received their first booster dose four months ago. People 18-49 years old who received a J&J primary dose, and who received a J&J booster dose four months ago. People 12 and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised, and who received their first booster dose four months ago. Mobile and Partner Vaccine Clinics Sedgwick County Updates Sedgwick County Health Department follows CDC's newly established COVID-19 Community Level framework. COVID-19 Community Level is based on case counts, hospital admissions and hospital capacity, and is reflected in a color-coded system indicating low, medium and high community levels. Sedgwick County's current COVID-19 Community Level is low. On August 13, 2021, KDHE updated their travel quarantine guidance to include mass gatherings of 500 or more. KDHE requires anyone who attends a mass gathering of 500 or more people where individuals do not socially distance and wear a mask to quarantine after the last day of the event. Sedgwick County allows people who attended a mass gathering to observe the modified 7 or 10 day quarantine period. For more information, visit KDHE's COVID-19 Travel Quarantine website. On December 30, 2021, KDHE updated its quarantine and isolation guidance for health-care workers in hospital settings and for the general public.
