The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator will be responsible for using sewing machines to replace neck labels, adding a hem label, or adding a sleeve label. The operator will keep sewing machines stocked with thread, position material under needles, and guide their stitching to sew labels. The sewing machine operator will be able to repair minor problems affecting their equipment. When a product is finished, the operator will ensure item accuracy and display an impeccable awareness of all sewing procedures. MUST BE ABLE TO USE AN INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE. Environment: Air-Conditioned Warehouse This position is labor intensive. Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Occasional overtime or varied hours may be required to meet customer needs. What you can expect: · Operate a single needle sewing machine, a multi-needle serger, and a binding machine. · Read and interpret production work orders and adjust machines including thread and needles. · Record accurately the materials used, maintenance performed, and number of pieces completed during each shift. · Attach neck labels according to work order instructions. Examine finished products to verify they meet our high-quality standards. · Troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, cleaning sewing machines and request service or repairs as needed. · Meet or exceed consistent daily and weekly output and quality goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual. · Demonstrable experience as a sewing machine operator and working knowledge of sewing machine mechanics. · Good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills and a demonstrated attention to detail. · Must be at least 18 years old to work with industrial machines. · Must be able to sit for long periods of time and ability to manage your time effectively. · Outstanding eyesight or utilization of corrective measures.
