Job Overview: The Security Officer is responsible in performing duties and assignments in such a manner as to be familiar with all aspects of the security and general operation, enabling the officer to assume other job responsibilities when necessary. Schedule: 48 hours working week KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Communicate and maintain his immediate superiors informed of the operational status of the departures/arrivals, as well as providing comments and recommendations related to the operation. • Carry out security functions as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Conduct a detailed security search of the airport prior to departure and hand over the aircraft to the Inflight Security Coordinator, communicating pertinent security information to the ISC before flight departure. Conduct mandated cargo checks, and record such checks in the proper manner in order to be presented to TSA upon demand. • Monitor public areas throughout the airport, both sterile and non-sterile areas under the control of the all-cargo aircraft operator, as well as securing the SIDA, AOA and other sensitive areas. • Performs screening of individuals and property. • Controls access to the aircraft. Accepts screening and loading of cargo. • Applies security measures where they need to be in effect. • Responsible for controlling and security the loading and un-loading of the aircraft according to the federal guidelines. GSC must remain with the aircraft until fully loaded; if he has to momentarily leave the aircraft area, he/she upon return must again perform a security search as mandated by TSA. Must complete a Flight Status Report to record the names of all personnel, maintenance, supervisors and third party services suppliers. Must record any damage to the cargo being loaded, as well as any damaged to the aircraft, and report such discrepancy to the supervisors immediately. Prior to handing over the aircraft, the Officer can check that the catering for the departing flight is intact. •All Security Officers working at the Front Desk/Reception Area must greet, challenge and orientate the personnel and/or visitors entering/exiting the facility accordingly. Challenge all individuals (employees, contractors, visitors, etc.,) for MDAD Badge, Company I.D. and Visitor I.D. before allowing anyone into the facility. Inspect all and/or any documents required in order to complete the process. Make sure Employees and Contractors’ park in their assigned parking area; likewise, visitors shall park in the visitors’ parking area. •Ensure all Exit Doors are kept close and clear from any object. Immediately report any irregularities. Fully complete all roving rounds. Ensure doors and gates are closed at all times. •Operate company’s vans to drive flight crew. Complete and maintain systematic logs and records regarding destinations and the dispatching of the documents. Ensure the vehicle is in good condition and report any damage or uncleanness. Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of keys and company’s cellular phones. Telephones must be carried for the duration of assigned shifts and keys must be properly checked in/out; answer calls in a timely-manner. WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Indoor/Outdoors PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged periods of time standing, walking. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to scan surrounding environment. The associate frequently is required to interact with others, talk and hear. OTHER: FAA Safety Sensitive Position – Subject to FAA Drug and Alcohol Program. Must possess or acquire, prior to starting date, the State of Florida, Security License D. Bilingual is preferred.
