I bleed country music, don’t get me wrong, but I want to do it louder. I also love metal, prog, jazz and bluegrass… the problem is everything I play sounds country. You following me yet? Let’s start a band with no rules. Let’s play covers, let’s play them our way. Cover bands can have an absolute blast AND make money! Let’s write originals that make people bounce and ballads that’ll make them cry. 29 years experience here and following the rules hasn’t served me well at all. I think people are ready for a next level country band that can rock as hard we want, and jam as long as people are diggin it… this is Florida right? Here’s a short list of my influences if you’re not into the whole brevity thing: Sturgil, Garth, Clint, George (Jones and Strait),Merle, Willie, Johnny (Cash, Paycheck and Hiland), Brent Mason, David Allan Coe (Rebel meets Rebel… c’mon), Hank (I,II, and III), Jason Isbell, Josh Smith, Brad Paisley (shut up, he’s f***ing awesome ), Outlaws, Skynyrd, ALLMAN BROS, Crabb Family (don’t knock it), Black Stone Cherry, Sevendust, Pantera, Gojira, Periphery, Lamb of God, Haken, Dio, Dream Theater, Tony Rice, Bryan Sutton, Punch Bros, Balsam Range, and basically any and every 90’s rock and metal band. I don’t think all modern country is bad, just a lot of it. And yes, I also love Nu Metal… there. I said I mainly play teles and dreadnaughts, and I often tune them down for dramatic effect.
