Press release from the City of Greensboro: 06/08/2022 12:01 PM The City's Greensboro Criminal Justice Advisory Commission (GCJAC) is hosting a forum titled "Trauma and Violence: a Community Conversation on the Correlation" in place of its regularly scheduled virtual meeting at 6:30 pm Thursday, June 16. The forum features speakers from local mental health and criminal justice fields who will discuss the role trauma plays in the perpetuation of violence. "Trauma is often times a topic that is not discussed from a criminal justice lens," says Latisha McNeil, GCJAC administrator. "As a community, we see the effects of violence and criminal acts, but often times we miss the underlying traumatic experiences that can lead people down a violent path." Questions?
