ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst alderwoman this week noted local activities celebrating the LGBT community in June, which is Pride Month.
"In Elmhurst, there are a lot of ways to celebrate that Elmhurst is for everyone," Alderwoman Emily Bastedo said at Monday's City Council meeting. "I want to thank the Elmhurst Pride Collective for making our downtown really beautiful this month."
Bastedo said about 35 businesses participated in the opportunity to paint their windows with rainbows and other colorful drawings.
She also highlighted the Elmhurst Family Pride Fest. It is set for noon to 3 p.m. June 25 at the Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 Spring Road.
The Elmhurst Pride Collective includes much of its information on its Facebook page.
