Description
Press release from Upstate Medical University: June 2, 2022 Upstate Medical University, the region's largest employer, will honor more than 1,100 employees, including Eugene Kaplan, MD, who will be celebrated for 60 years of service to Upstate, at the University's 2022 Employee Recognition Day (ERD) event Thursday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter Complex, 800 S. State St., Syracuse. This will be the first in-person ERD since 2019. The event was virtual for the last two years, as the pandemic sidelined many in-person activities. Despite the gathering, masks must be worn by all attendees and the traditional lunch will be offered for take-away, rather than sit-down. The event honors employees who have reached a 5-year service milestone as of June 30. Event presenters include ERD Committee Chair Gwynne Conway, Upstate President Mantosh Dewan, MD, and Upstate University Hospital Chief Executive Officer Robert Corona DO, MBA. "Employee Recognition Day is one of the most important dates on the Upstate calendar, and I'm grateful we can once again celebrate together in person," said Dewan. "The day enables us to pause for the moment to celebrate our employees for their outstanding work. "Thank you for your service to Upstate, whether you joined us 5 years ago or 60 years ago, your commitment to our mission is most appreciated," Dewan continued. Free shuttles will run continuously from Upstate University Hospital's Downtown Campus traffic circle to the Oncenter from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Shuttles will leave the Community Campus at 10:35 a.m., boarding at the front circle. The first return shuttle back to Community will leave the OnCenter at 12:15 p.m. Visit https://www.upstate.edu/erd/ to view the listing of the 2022 honorees by years of service. The website also offers program, shuttle, and RSVP details. This press release was produced by Upstate Medical University. The views expressed here are the author's own.
