The Deck Installer Role We are seeking a Deck Installer to join our team. You will work closely with our Project Managers and your other co-workers to bring our customers’ dreams to life. This job has a lot of heavy lifting, fast problem solving, and bad weather. A deck installer demo's old decks and builds new ones that are proudly stamped with the CFD name. In addition to building people’s dream backyards, you will have the opportunity to learn more about leadership skills, how to communicate, and how to operate a business. You will be involved in weekly meetings where we are designing and building our future as a company. Your feedback is not welcomed, it is required. We plan to expand to other markets and are fully aware that we need more leaders to do this. We built a full leadership program that will help you hone and sharpen your skills. In this Job, You Will... • Demo old decks • Work 10-30' off the ground. (Hopefully, you are not scared of heights) • Build cool custom decks • Lift heavy beams and posts • Boost morale & have a positive attitude • Dial in your customer service skills • Practice your people skills (leadership) Why might you NOT like this position? The reality of this position is in a few bullet points below: • You will be working in the elements. (Hot sun, or cold rain) • You will have to deal with customers of all shapes, sizes, and opinions EVERY day. • We work within a 1-hour radius of the shop so you may sit in traffic at times. • This work is hard. You will pack thousands of pounds of lumber on your shoulder. • You work high off the ground. Compensation Our wages are not based on how well you can build decks. It is based on how well you influence people around you. If you don’t know how to influence people around you, we will invest in teaching you. Entry Level: $18-$24 per hour. (New to the trades, have common sense, and eager to learn how to influence others) Expert level: $30-$45 per hour. (Strong desire to positively influence others.
