Maintenance Worker (40 hrs/wk flex) Long Island, NY (Nassau and Suffolk) AHRC Nassau provides support to over 2,200 people throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Our organization partners with a family of organizations including Brookville Center for Children’s Services, Citizens Options Unlimited and Advantage Care Health Centers. We are currently seeking a full time Maintenance Worker to handle the following: • Maintain and repair agency buildings and equipment by performing basic trade work (e.g., wall repair, replacement of broken locks and basic plumbing and carpentry). Inspects, troubleshoots and identifies buildings, equipment or machines in need of repair. • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician or licensed professionals; • Order supplies, parts, and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. • Maintain record of all orders, works and inspections • Promote favorable appearance of Agency facilities and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and their ability to protect the safety of campus users. • Perform preventive maintenance at all locations; seasonal maintenance as required which includes snow removal and other weather-related responsibilities. Perform duties as requested to promote favorable appearance of agency property. • Relocates furniture (e.g. office equipment) by lifting and transporting equipment. We require: • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Valid and qualified NYS driver’s license required. • Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting of up to 50 lbs. • General maintenance experience preferred, including minor trade work repairs.
