Austin-based company seeking a motivated individual to fill out our team. As an industrial coating applicator, the primary focus will be to spray the surfaces of manufactured products with a specialized coating that is composed of a polymer-ceramic compound known as Cerakote. While knowledge of Cerakote & its application process is preferred, we are willing to train the right person that does not have experience Essential Duties & Expectations: Responsible for selecting and mixing colors or “color matching” to achieve the desired hue, ability to take color-hue tests to verify color accuracy. Creating samples for approval and recording exact ingredients amounts to catalog for future use. Preparing spraying equipment & products for application before applying paint to various surfaces. Inspecting products for quality control and completing touch-ups when necessary. Recording progress daily in project management software used company-wide. Using the same software to manage large projects, communicate with team members, and plan and prioritize tasks, with a minimum of 25wpm typing speed & technological understanding. Willingness to follow instructions from a team supervisor as well as the ability to be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision. Must be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as coating mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required. Maintaining the paint mix room while following the company safety policies. Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily. Operating the sandblaster using safety requirements. Maintaining proper respirator care. Must have the ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques, meet company productivity rates, and overall interested to learn all aspects of the job, lending to cross-training opportunities. This full-time position works Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with 30 minutes to an hour for lunch, your choice. Overtime hours may be available when deadlines dictate. Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
