When people think of Hermit crabs they usually think of a child's pet that lives in a box with bright colored sand and cute painted shells that are easy to take care of and don't last long. This couldn't be more wrong. Hermit crabs are a very intricate wild species that require sophisticated care much like a tropical gecko. They also have a 40+ year life span with proper care! (See- Johnathan the Hermit Crab). I rescue and rehabilitate hermit crabs and am passionate about the species.
