In the begining there was hard work, a brilliant idea, or a work ethic that was protected by the rule of law and the power of unions. But then came the Republicans...they changed the rules, destroyed the unions and conned a huge group of MAGA hat wearers that they really cared about them. They don't! Now the rules are simple: Uber Rich don't pay taxes...ever. They become even more rich as inflation skyrockets out of control. And they love the cost of gasoline as oil companies profits reach levels never seen before. Trump has paid $1500 in federal income tax over the past 30 years. The average billionaire in this country pays less than 2% of their incomes in Federal Income Tax. Then of course there is the estate tax. Through of series of tax legistlations that were passed under Republican administrations, there is a fool proof loop hole that allows rich parents to pass ALL of their wealth to their children. What this does is create a class decided in the cradle, not unlike the monarchies that have stained Europe for centuries. Please remember why we broke the yoke of British tyranny on that glorious July 4th, in 1776. And I quote Thomas Jefferson: "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all people are created equal..."
