Description
I'm a returning alto sax player looking to join an existing band. My goal is to play live this summer - it could be a backyard party or a paid venue - I just want to make music for an audience again.
What I bring to your band: I can improvise and solo, play along with vocal melody, harmonize, etc. to fit the song and group. I'm a quick study with new music, especially when I'm surrounded by other musicians. I don't expect that every song will need a sax, and I'm glad to use our practice time to figure that out with the group. Let's jam and see if I'm a good fit for the band - my number is below, add a two 6 nine at the beginning.
My ideal band would play rock, blues, oldies, country, or even 70s/80s/90s pop. I have a wide taste in music, and I practice a little of everything (currently: The Flamingos, Zeppelin, Etta James, Chris Stapleton, Bill Withers)
About me: I started playing sax at the age of 10, and I became quite good before I gave it up in favor of guitar in high school. I recently picked up my sax again and remembered why I loved it in the first place. Until recently, my main instruments were guitar and bass; my last paid gig was playing bass for an oldies cover band. I also play the drums, and a little more cowbell.
I live near Ann Arbor, MI and can travel locally for jams and gigs. Text me on my cell at 6 one 5 one seven 4 zero (to prevent spam, the area code is above). I'm excited to jam so get in touch!
