Part-time (10-15 hours per week); Required location: New York Metro Area The Bhakti Center: The Bhakti Center is a spiritual cultural center in New York City’s Lower East Side with a talented staff devoted to sharing the experience of self-transformation through the timeless culture and practices of Bhakti-yoga. Job Summary: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Handyperson is responsible for overall maintenance of Bhakti Center which includes but not limited to cleanliness and electrical, mechanical & plumbing related repairs Responsibilities: Works with Facilities Manager to develop, prioritize and maintain a punch list of maintenance activities Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc. Perform maintenance and light repairs Perform routine landscaping on the grounds Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.) Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets) Repair equipment or appliances. Required Skills/Abilities: Organized and able to self manage. Proactive in problem solving and able to troubleshoot when necessary. Transparent with communication and able to ask for help when needed Comfortable working with spreadsheets and google calendar Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient with Google Suite or related software. Good communication and customer service skills.
