This entry-level course will provide you with a base knowledge of photographic techniques. We'll start with an explanation of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO), the various exposure modes on modern digital cameras (P, A, S, and M), and why you should avoid the "Intelligent Automatic" setting. After a break, we'll dive into lenses and their use. Wrapping up the day will be a discussion on photo composition. This class will cover photography basics. It doesn't matter if you use a Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, or Lumix camera. But, bring your camera! At the end of class, I will provide handouts covering the topics we learned. The class is limited to 18 participants. We'll discuss the following topics: • F stops • Shutter Speeds • ISO • Exposure Triangle – how they relate • Viewfinder – setting the diopter to finder display • Autofocus – selecting the best option • White Balance • RAW vs. JPEG
