Press release from the Town of Northborough: June 2, 2022 On May 19th, the CDC expanded eligibility of COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to everyone 5 years of age and older. CDC now recommends that children ages 5 through 11 years should receive a booster shot 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series. Additionally, the CDC strengthened its recommendation that those 12 and older who are immunocompromised and those 50 and older should receive a second booster dose at least 4 months after their first. The Northborough Health Department just released Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster appointments for individuals ages 5 and older. Please make sure to register through the correct link by product. Pre-registration is required. Clinics are open to the public. Please enter your insurance information when registering online. You will be asked to provide the date and brand of your most recent dose when registering. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so through your email confirmation link from Color. Please do not reply to this email. If you need assistance, please contact your local board of health. What if I don't know when I received my last COVID-19 vaccine shot? To learn when you are eligible for a booster dose, you should consult your CDC vaccination record card for the date of your second COVID-19 vaccination. If you do not have your vaccination card, contact your primary care provider or the retail pharmacy where you were first vaccinated. You may also be able to obtain a record of vaccinations administered in Massachusetts at www.mass.gov/myvaxrecord. NEW: Free telehealth for COVID-19 treatment with Paxlovid available. Telehealth is a quick and easy way to see if Paxlovid, a COVID-19 treatment pill taken by mouth, is right for you. If it is, we'll arrange for pickup at your local pharmacy or free overnight delivery (if the prescription is written before 5pm, Monday - Friday).
