ROCKFORD, IL — A U.S. Army Special Forces sergeant from Florida has been charged in a shooting at an Illinois bowling alley, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Saturday evening's shooting at Don Carter Lanes in Rockford left three people dead and three wounded. Duke Webb, 37, faces three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. His most recent address is at the Eglin Air Force Base in the Panhandle. Prior to that, he lived in Bradenton and has family in the area, reports said. Saturday's shooting appears to be a "random act," Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea said at a Sunday news conference. Webb has no known connections to the victims. The three who died in the shooting were men aged 73, 65 and 69, reports said. Rockford police have not released their names. Those injured in the shooting include a 14-year-old boy, who was shot in the face and airlifted to a hospital in Madison. He's in stable condition, reports said. Meanwhile, a 62-year-old man was shot multiple times and underwent emergency surgery. He's in critical condition, reports said. A 16-year-old girl was also shot in the shoulder, treated at a hospital and released. Webb, a Special Forces assistant operations and intelligence sergeant assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Camp Bull Simons at the Eglin Air Force Base, was on leave Saturday, reports said. He's served in the Army since 2008.
