HOLMES BEACH, FL — Police are investigating the destruction of protected trees and other vegetation on property owned by the city of Holmes Beach. The destruction of native plants at the 48th Street beach access happened on Nov. 28, Holmes Beach police posted to its Facebook page. The city is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to charges in the crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 941-778-2677 or Manatee County Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS (8477).
