"Ed-scape" Room Experience Workshop for Kids Going Into 4th Grade

This course is a single event course that's designed to review important previous year school content in preparation for the coming school year. Learners will take part in a collaborative escape room experience filled with fun and engaging puzzles and problem solving. Escape room content will be centered around the learning that they experienced during their third grade year with the addition of a few new concepts from the fourth grade to give each learner a late Summer refresher and enter the new school year refreshed and ready to go! The course meets the evening of Wednesday 8/17 from 4:30-5:30 pm. About STEMpowered: STEMpowered provides a variety of STEM-based enrichment courses designed to tap into kids’ innate curiosity and instill a love of learning. Explore the many innovative and age-appropriate courses that will inspire your young learner. Course Instructor: Ryan Gilligan holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with certification in early and middle school education, and a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He has been instilling a love of project-based, experiential learning in his students for over fifteen years. For the past eight years, Mr. Gilligan has developed New Jersey Public School standards-based STEM Programs for one of Bergen County's most competitive districts, and supported the curriculum development of other NJ-based districts by hosting professional development programs and conferences for teachers looking to implement his innovative approaches to learning. Mr. Gilligan's own experience as an energetic (and - often - challenging) young learner has informed his approach to his students today, and sparked his passion for reaching, engaging and inspiring each participant in his courses. He founded STEMpowered to reach more young learners with the exciting and innovative world of STEM.
