PORTLAND, OR — A person crossing Southeast 82nd Avenue by Southeast Center Street Monday night was struck and killed by a car whose driver just kept going, Portland police said Tuesday in a news release. The crash happened just after 9 p.m. they said. Police did not release any information about the victim. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian was already dead, according to police. Southeast 82nd Avenue was closed between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast Colgate Boulevard for about three hours, police said.
