ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have responded to cases involving domestic disturbances, a prowler, disorderly conduct, a sidewalk fall and smoke bombs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Domestic disturbances Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of North West Avenue. The victim said he met a suspect in the garage and that the suspect started yelling at him. The suspect then sprayed him in the face with tire cleaner and left. Police could not find the suspect. An investigation is pending. Police are investigating a domestic disturbance that took place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 26 in the 300 block of North Ferndale Avenue. Prowler A resident in the 500 block of North Walnut told police that she heard her back sliding glass door rattle and saw a man at the door about 1 p.m. Friday. When she looked again, the man was gone. He was described as white, having dark hair, and wearing dark shorts, a white or yellow shirt and gym shoes. Identity theft A resident in the 900 block of South Spring Road told police Thursday that someone used his Social Security number to obtain a loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration in October. Disorderly conduct A 27-year-old man from Aurora was seen urinating in the parking garage at 149 N. Addison Ave. about 5 p.m. Thursday. He was cited with charges of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Bicycle issues A person told police he locked his green Trek bicycle about 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the rack near First and York streets. When he returned at 6 p.m., it was no longer there. A multicolored girl's bicycle was found about 2 p.m. Saturday in the grass behind the apartment complex at 201 W. Brush Hill Road. Police placed the bike into evidence. Fugitive driver An officer stopped a driver of a Hyundai Sonata who was found to be driving with a suspended license about 1 a.m. Saturday near Roosevelt and Route 83. The driver then sped away. An investigation is pending. An officer tried to stop a Ford Explorer that was reported stolen in Chicago. The driver sped away on Butterfield Road, from Hillcrest Avenue. The incident was about 5 a.m. Monday. An investigation is pending. Sidewalk fall A person fell on an uneven sidewalk about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of North Maple. The person was taken to the hospital. The city's public works department was notified about the sidewalk. Smoke bombs A person set off smoke bombs about 5 p.m. Sunday inside the southeast elevator of the parking deck at 149 N. Addison Ave. It set off the fire alarm. The suspect was not found.
