DETROIT — A Detroit Police officer is recovering and in stable condition after police said a street racer dragged the officer Monday morning near Downtown Detroit.
Police said the officer was trying to stop a car from drifting in the area of Bagley Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard, near Corktown around 3 a.m.
However, as the officer approached the car on foot, the driver quickly backed the car up, dragging the officer across the pavement, officials said. The driver then sped off.
