Direct Support Professional opportunity available for a child with mild disabilities in the Southampton area. Successful candidates are energetic but calm, experience working with the disabled community, and ready to roll up your sleeves and have fun this summer. Client is adorable, verbal, gentle, friendly, happy, and loves to be out and about in the community. Payment is through an agency and is $24 an hour. Primary function is to support the acquisition of goals including social skills, safety, independence, leisure, and community. Employment type: Part time (3-6 hours per day for 5 days per week on average). Outstanding and unique work environment with family/employer who appreciates a loyal and skilled professional. Requirements: Preferred: 1 year experience in a support function for clients with disabilities Ability to drive - full background check with DMV record will be required. Enjoys working as part of a team and ability to collaborate. Preferred bachelors degree or equivalent experience - will consider college students seeking a career in a related field.
