Now Hiring! - It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween, and being scary! The Forsaken Lands Outdoor Haunted Attraction, Connecticut’s newest dimension of fear, is looking to hire 45 scare-actors for the 2022 Fall season. Job Summary: Scare-actors will be expected to safely scare/ entertain guests while maintaining their designated scene or area of the attraction, working side by side with fellow scare-actors. Scare-actors will be required to wear and maintain assigned costumes, masks, special FX makeup, and properly handle props for up to 5 hours a night on Fridays and weekends from September 30th to November 5th. (NO PRIOR ACTING EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED) We will follow-up with you after receiving your application, and will inform you of the available dates to attend an audition/ interview. Auditions and interviews will begin in June, and the dates will also be posted on our website at www.forsakenlandshaunt.com, as well as our social media pages. Everything will be held at our location, Action Wildlife (435 Torrington Rd, Goshen, CT 06756). Duties and Responsibilities: - Safely scare/ entertain guests in designated scene or area of the attraction, while maintaining the setting and atmosphere of that area. - Wear and maintain assigned costumes, masks, special FX makeup, and properly handle props while scaring/ entertaining in scene or area. - Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety of the attraction at all times. - Memorize all character dialogue/ lines, skits, safety protocols, and emergency response plans. - Consistently deliver scares or skits to guests with energy and enthusiasm throughout the entirety of each night of operation without breaking character. - Meet scheduling and availability requirements. - Avoid damaging of any costumes, props, or scenic elements of the attraction. - Adhere to all policies, procedures, and requirements in the Terror Team Handbook, including Code of Ethics and Workplace Harassment Policy. - Perform any other tasks or duties assigned. Working Conditions: 
Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions, in costume, within areas boasting artificial/ special effects including but not limited to loud noises, music, strobe lights, fog, haze, lasers, darkness, confined spaces, and mirror effects for up to 5 hours a night. Required Skills: - The ability to perform repetitive actions, skits, and lines for long periods of time in a safe fashion while staying in character. - The ability to wear a costume with either a mask or makeup for long periods of time. - The ability to consistently move from one spot to another at a fast pace. - The ability to remain seated or standing in a specific area for long periods of time. - The ability to use a loud voice consistently. - The ability to be reliable, work with others, follow instructions from management. Minimum Requirements/ Qualifications: - Must be at least 16 years of age. - Must be able to provide legal documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the United States. - Must have flexible availability on Friday and weekend nights from September 30th to November 5th. - Must be able to work outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. - Must be able to handle environments with artificial/ special effects including but not limited to loud noises, music, strobe lights, fog, haze, lasers, darkness, confined spaces, and mirror effects for up to 5 hours a night. - Must have reliable transportation to work.
