FM Event Productions, a DMV event production company, is currently looking for a logistical expert to be the air traffic controller in our event production business with experience in carpentry work, painting, and any other warehouse operation assistance (including the office). The ideal candidate will have some carpentry experience to be able to help with builds and have a general understanding of production needs, be able to oversee the productions to ensure orders are fulfilled and our custom designs are top-notch! Duties/ Responsibilities: • Assist with day-to-day office/warehouse operation • Assist with all custom production built, warehouse equipment • Assist with event installations at venues throughout the DMV and beyond • Following the direction of the Event Manager, assist with assembly and set up of event equipment, including custom backdrop design, pipe and drape, tables & chair rentals, vinyl floor wrap, lighting productions, a custom stage built and setups, etc. • Breakdown events and repack trucks • Assist loading/unloading of our trucks from our warehouse and perform quality inspections of all decors • Ensure quality standards of all decor and custom-built prior to going on a job, and as they return from events • Support the team as needed as the point of contact for an event while supervising the load-in/load-out of event crews and vendors • Retain truck maintenance logs and schedule maintenance as needed A great candidate has: • Experience in event setup/ breakdown • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends • Dependable and punctual - must be able to show up on time for every scheduled shift • Reliable mode of transportation to and from event venues • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions • Tools will be provided at work but must have basic knowledge of how to use them • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds The ultimate candidate has: • Experience with carpentry, rigging, and/or painting • Experience and a clean record driving non-CDL box trucks • Experience leading a crew at event installations • Ability to work independently and think critically • Ability to stay calm when operating under tight deadlines • Experienced in keeping inventory and creating space-saving storage solutions Perks: • Occasional opportunities to travel to NY, NJ, PA, and DE for events.
