MEMCO is HIRING!!! Concrete/Plumber - General Laborer, candidate Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Location: Port of Brownsville, TX Starting pay: $12 per hour Essential Duties: Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for horizontal and vertical construction sites. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Underground pipework/concrete work Material handling and storage. Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. Aid craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, and masons. Physical Requirements Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and customers by telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, crawling, and handling, sitting, pushing, and pulling. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. General Labor Qualification Experience working on sanitary sewer, utilites, pipeline, RCP storm drain and waterline projects is highly preferred MUST have 2 forms of ID MUST have a reliable vehicle/ transportation Possession of a valid, appropriate Texas CDL (Class C) driver’s license is preferable and an acceptable driving record. Pre- employment drug screen and physical required.
