PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the Cook Supervisor and Dining Services Director this person will be responsible for the nightly sanitation and close down procedures of the kitchen at Mountain View Nursing home. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists night crew with Pots, pans, trash removal sweeping and mopping the floor and cleaning of any food cooking equipment. 2. Works as dietary aide on service line as needed . 3. Delivers and picks up Meal caddies during meal service times 4. Assists in the sanitation and daily organizing of all food and nonfood product as needed. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS 1. Perform other similar or related duties as required or directed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the primary functions of the job. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Mountain View Nursing Home Dietary Department, principles, policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Department Heads, employees, residents, and the general public. Knowledgeable of the methods, practices, materials and equipment for the Dietary Department. Knowledgeable of the hazards involved and safety precautions necessary for the Dietary Department to include ability to read and understand precautions regarding serving equipment. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and in writing. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. Ability to read written or printed material and do simple mathematical calculations. Ability to write legibly. Ability to recognize an emergency situation within the context of job duties and to follow emergency medical and safety procedures. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected issues. Possess manual dexterity to operate and breakdown all equipment for the purpose of cleaning. Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or excessive stress. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Requires performing regular job functions under good conditions in a safe working environment. Requires stooping, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, moving intermittently and working in cramped spaces during working hours. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. May be subject to cuts, bruises, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. Exposure to heat, cold, steam, wet floors, sharp objects, and chemicals. Ability to tolerate temperatures of up to 100 degrees. Ability to immerse hands in water up to 100 degrees. Job Type: Part-time COVID-19 considerations: As a health care facility, all employees are required to wear masks and be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 or hold a valid exemption. Exempt employees must test twice weekly to maintain employment.
