The Quilt Crossing has an opening for a Sewing Repair Technician. The successful candidate must be dependable, enthusiastic, eager to learn and possess good mechanical aptitude. Prior experience in any technical or mechanical repair field is required. Sewing machine repair and maintenance is a unique combination of precision mechanics and leading edge electronics. It helps to have background in both, but additional training is available if you have a background in one. Being able to accurately disassemble and reassemble small parts is important. Attention to detail is key. Background in other areas such as laptop computers, smart phone repair, gun smithing, motor repair, HVAC equipment, might all be applicable. Of course, background in sewing machines is always a plus! Training includes: In person mentoring from factory trained technician, extensive service manuals and videos from manufacturer, and manufacturer training.
