Looking to hire someone to learn the ropes as a boat captain on Lake Austin for a 24' pontoon boat. The boat will primarily be rented out Friday through Sunday so availability those days are a must each week. The season runs now through October and this is a longterm position, albeit seasonally, with more potential in coming years as a larger double-decker pontoon boat will be arriving soon and added to the fleet. A typical day would be - 1. Go to a gas station and buy 2-4 bags of ice and 1-2 five gallon containers of premium gas on a company credit card 2. Drive to private boat slip on Lake Austin 3. Fuel boat, do light cleaning of leaves and debris off boat 4. Meet charter at 360 Bridge...a seven minute ride from the boat slip 5. Take private charter out for 3-4 hours, ensure they have a good time, be friendly, pleasant, helpful, and most importantly safe 6. Do 1-2 charters per weekend day 7. Return boat to slip A long day would be 7-8 hours on the lake, however, that type of timeframe comes out to close to $500 a day. Half days should be around $250 a day. If you want to hustle, you can make some decent money and enjoy spending plenty of time outside on the lake.
