We are currently looking for one more instructor to add to our team. You would be teaching lessons to beginners (some intermediate) kids and adult amateurs. This is an independent contractor position with a commission split. Red Fern Riding Center is independently owned and operated and is located at Shelby Trails Park - a 465 acre public equestrian park and nature preserve in Shelby County, KY. We have 25 miles of trails and both indoor and outdoor arenas Our primary discipline is eventing with a heavy emphasis on dressage foundations. We emphasize horsemanship, safety and building relationship with horses through equality, communication and shared partnership. The ideal candidate would: be safety-focused and detail oriented have above average communication skills want to be a part of a supportive and family-like work environment be able to communicate with existing clients to book ongoing lessons and help build their own book of incoming students Responsibilities include: giving riding lessons and instruction teaching proper horse care, safe handling and safe riding practices ensuring facilities and equipment are maintained in proper condition assisting in the care of horses as needed noticing injuries/lost shoes then notifying management in general, maintaining the cleanliness of the barn, aisles, and facility and health and safety of the horses Training and/or overseeing our working student(s). Qualifications include: valid Driver’s license at least 10 years of equine experience in Eventing, Dressage, Show Jumping, Hunter/Jumper or a combination of those disciplines demonstrable skill in horseback riding. must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time; lift or exert force on items with varying weights; dress according to uniform policy requirements; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors and clients is required previous riding instruction experience is preferred. This position works various shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and some holidays. You will have a large amount of control over your schedule and the days and hours you work. Compensation: You will receive a commission per lesson. You will be employed as an independent contractor and will receive a 1099. Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: $50.00 - $150.00 per day
