This job is easy. Showing up and being reliable is #1. All it takes is motivation to have some fun and get it done. Work with a friend! - If you have a friend you’d like to work with, sign them up too! - You can drive together, work together, stop to eat when you want, etc. WORK SUMMARY: No experience needed. We will train you. You clear short paths and sidewalks only. No driveway shoveling. The job includes visiting a short list of residential addresses, and clearing snow from the paths. You’ll make one pass across the front of the garage, and sometimes you’ll clear a short section of sidewalk. Use a shovel or snowblower, the “snow plow” kind of shovel that deflects snow so you don’t have to lift it. REQUIRED: - Legally eligible to work in the USA. - Valid Michigan driver license. - Reliable transportation. You use your own vehicle. You do *NOT* need to drive around during a storm. - Basic insurance. Must have standard car insurance, not just the state minimum. (It’s not that expensive to have standard insurance. Working ONE SNOW DAY will pay enough to pay your car insurance for 6 months.) - Must be able to walk and push snow, or walk behind a snowblower. - Must be able to bend and lift 10-15 pounds in a snow shovel. In some cases, small amounts of snow have to be pushed over a curb. PREFERRED: - Living in or near the Rochester / Pontiac area is a plus, but not required. - Experience in snow services and/or residential lawn care services is preferred. PAY STRUCTURE: - Pay is by direct deposit or paper check. - Pay is about $150 - $500 (+++) for each snow event worked. - Reliable employees are GUARANTEED a monthly pay, even if it does not snow. - Pay is always fair and based on how much you get done. Every address has been measured, so pay reflects exactly how much work each stop will take to complete. Pay Details: This all depends on how many routes you want to complete. One route of 15-30 stops will take 1-4 hours to finish, and will usually pay $100-250. (Each stop usually takes 3-4 minutes to clear, and pays $5-10.) Every route is paid based on the exact number of stops you make, and the work required at each location. If snow is 6 inches or more, pay for each stop is HIGHER. Deep snow events pay 150% or 200% the normal pay rate. +++ Each shift you work adds to your end-of-season bonus, paid in April. +++ EQUIPMENT: You use our shovel or our snowblower, it's up to you. You drive your own car or truck from site to site. LOCATION: Rochester Hills. All stops are inside a 3 mile radius. TIME: Must be completed within 12 hours after any snowfall over 2 inches. We will call/text you when snow is expected to reach 2+ inches, and we will set the start time.
