Rehoming: This is Max, he’s a 7 year old Chippin (chihuahua and min pin mix), located in Springfield.
Why we are rehoming: My daughter is rehoming him because she’s going off to college and moving to Portland soon. I can’t take him because I have a big dog and Max hates him with a passion.
Temperament: Max is a very sweet, cuddly, loving dog, who is extremely loyal to his one person. Max does get jealous around other dogs (especially big males) so he should probably be alone or with another little dog. I know on walks he’s friendly with cats but has never lived with one. As far as kids, he can get scared if people move too quickly around him and will try to control them by nipping at their ankles, so an adult would be ideal.
Health: Max is under 10 lbs but he’s very healthy. He seems to have a little eye infection going on in his left eye which we clean regularly and have some medicine for. He has one tooth that’s ugly but it doesn’t seem to bother him. He could use a nail trim. When he gets too excited he has trouble breathing and you have to calm him down and he’s fine after that.
What Max comes with: Two beds (one covered, one open), a dog blanket, harness, extendable leash, dog food and water bowls, a fabric and mesh carrier, whatever Royal Canine Chihuahua food we have left, a collar, bow ties, eye drops, and some xs dog coats.
We are looking for serious inquiries only. My daughter is devastated having to get rid of him but wants him to have a life outside of her room, which is all he would have if he moved with her.
We are asking a small $50 rehoming fee just so we know that you are serious. This may be waived for the right person.
