UW's Housing and Food Services has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Maintenance Mechanic 1. Position Purpose: Perform maintenance, repair, and remodeling of residential facilities, grounds, and equipment. Description of Duties · Participate individually and on teams assigned to perform refurbishing, repairs and maintenance of HFS facilities · Prepare units for occupancy · Operate hand and power tools · Drive light trucks and other utility vehicles · Load and unload materials and supplies · Repair appliances and equipment · Operate a computerized maintenance management system Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or GED equivalent or six months full-time related vocational study or training; or six months applicable work experience; and one year full-time experience as a helper in building and equipment maintenance, construction, repair work, or equivalent. Conditions of Employment · A satisfactory outcome from the employment reference check processes and education verification. · Possession of a valid State of Washington Driver’s License.
