A 30-year-old established North Kansas City company is looking for a full-time shipping associate. The primary job responsibility is to ensure what is shipped from our facility is properly packed and contains the accurate product. This position is for someone who is very detail oriented and organized. This position can develop into a 'step-up' growing opportunity for the right candidate with the motivation and drive to improve their career. You will be responsible for: • Assisting with outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. • Packing product, properly protecting fragile pieces to ensure no product becomes damaged in transit. • In charge of outgoing shipment quality control to ensure all parts match pick tickets and are accurate. • Establishing and maintaining daily departmental processes and procedures. • Assists in maintaining inventory of shipping materials, supplies. • Executing daily work instructions in a timely manner. • Maintaining the work area to be clean, safe and organized. • Lifting and carrying products/boxes as needed, including waste disposal. • Collecting and disposing garbage and housekeeping activities. • Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: • Experience in shipping and receiving preferred. • This is job is a standing position. You will be on your feet for an 8-hour shift. You must be physically fit and able to comfortably lift 40 lbs. • Strong attention to detail. Other Requirements: • Must have dependable transportation • Must have a good attendance record • Personable, reliable and positive "can-do" attitude • Be able to read a tape measure accurately and efficiently • Continuous standing, bending, squatting, and walking throughout the workday • This is a full-time position.
