Home Remodeling - Carpenter - Construction - Handyman - Helper (Bergen/ Hudson country, NJ) compensation: $20/hour to start, then more depending on your skill level employment type: full-time job title: carpenter - helper - remodeling Home Remodeling company in, New Jersey for 22 years now. Most of the projects we do are in towns in Bergen and Passaic Counties. Most of the work I get and do is higher end residential interior remodeling and renovations, ranging anywhere from a punch list of odds and ends to an entire level of renovation. I'm looking to hire another guy to work with us to be able to keep up with the steady flow of incoming work. You should have experience and a well rounded background in the home remodeling field, if not I can maybe use you as a helper. The work we deliver to my customers is flawless which is what keeps them calling me back. I am looking for someone that loves what they do and takes pride in their work to deliver the same. You dont have to know everything here but you MUST have some experience in home remodeling and have the knowledge or be willing and able to learn: - Frame a wall with headers - Demo and remodel a kitchen and bathroom - Hang drywall and spackle - Install floor and wall tile with grout - Install windows and doors - Install window, door and base trim - Crown moulding installation a plus - Caulk trim work - Install cabinets - Install wood floors & vinyl floors - Painting, if you can cut in sharp lines freehand a plus Even Better if you have experience in: - Electric, replacing switches, outlets and light fixtures - Plumbing, replacing toilets, tubs sinks and faucets - Copper pipe soldering - Masonry, pointing bricks and stone repairs - Work with an aluminum break for exterior trim The person I am looking for must: - Be professional and clean cut - A fast learner - Not cut corners just to finish a job - Have a valid NJ Driver's License - Have their own transportation - Have their own cell phone - Big PLUS if you have your own tools (chop saw, nail gun, hand and power tools) - And PLEASE be neat and leave the customer's house clean at the end of the day - Preferably a non-smoker This is a full time job, depending on the amount of work that comes in. As you know being in this business we can work for months straight and we can also stay home for a few days. Luckily, I have been very busy and steadily getting more calls for work than I can handle right now. You will be working in a crew of 2-3 of us, not a big crew or you may be by yourself. Also, if you are available part time, I might be able to use you too. The person I am looking for is meticulous, passionate and takes pride in their work. They will stick it out the extra time to finish a job instead of watching the clock to leave. They will know how to correct a problem the right way instead of making it worse. I don't pressure you to work faster, Id rather you take a little bit longer to do it right the first time than to have to do it again… I can start you out at $20 an hour to see how your work is.
