We have been in business 40+ years and we perform concrete paving, asphalt paving, landscaping and irrigation installation. We have a full service shop in Grand Forks and Fargo and we are seeking an experienced technician to perform troubleshooting, repair and regular maintenance of crew trucks, heavy machinery, equipment and power tools. We have roughly 200 employees and our shop in Grand Forks typically has 2-3 repair techs working year round -- it is typical to have overtime in the summer & 40 hours during the winter. In our shop, every day is different and if you enjoy trouble shooting and working on a variety of different tasks you should consider this position. General Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work - Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule - Time management skills - Written and oral communication skills - Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others - Knowledge of the English language, ability to obtain DOT health card & pass pre-employment drug screen. - High school education or equivalent required - Associate degree in auto mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics or equivalent in experience preferred - Ability to operate and/or drive all equipment - Ability to read and follow blueprints and machine schematics information - 2 plus years in related experience - Associate degree in auto mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics or equivalent in experience preferred - Welding experience preferred - Ability to periodically lift and move large pieces of equipment (65 lbs+) - Ability to stand for long periods of time (several hours) - A considerable amount of time is spent standing, bent over or lying under large machinery
