Description

Small student transportation company in Andover has an immediate opening for a fulltime mechanic. (Approx. 50 vans & cars-No school buses) GENERAL MECHANICAL/OTHER DUTIES INCLUDING: • Properly diagnose maintenance issues reported by drivers and perform repairs as needed. • Perform routine maintenance repairs as needed including but not limited to: engine tune ups; brake and suspension system repair and replacement; electrical issues; fluid and filter changes; mount and balance tires; minor body repairs. • Perform daily maintenance checks of fleet vehicle’s fluids, tires, lights, belts, hoses and add/change as needed. • Road test repaired vehicles to ensure proper repairs have been done. • Research and order proper vehicle parts. • Maintain vehicle maintenance records. • General maintenance and cleanup of building and grounds. • Routine washing, cleaning interiors and exteriors of fleet. • Drive routes as needed. • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS • Vehicle mechanical experience or training required. • Prefer school bus company maintenance experience. • Good organizational skills. • Good written communication skills. • Ability to work with people. • Ability to work with minimum supervision. • Ability to diagnose needed vehicle repairs and prioritize needed repairs. • Must provide your own hand tools. • Basic computer skills preferred. • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical. • Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, reach and be on your feet for extended periods of time • Must be able to lift and manipulate equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 lbs. • Be able to work a flexible hour schedule.
