BURKE, VA — Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw, in partnership with Celebrate Fairfax, is hosting the first Braddock Bark festival at Lake Accotink Park on Sunday, June 12. The festival, which runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will take place at the Lake Accotink Mclaren-Sargent Shelter at 7500 Accotink Park Road. The festival will include animals for adoption from local rescue organizations, more than 20 vendors with free pet-focused giveaways, a dog superlative contest, a doggy obstacle course, food and ice cream vendors, and demonstrations from the Fairfax County Police K-9 Unit. Dogs will be available for adoption from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue. The doggy obstacle course will be provided by Paw, Mind, and Body. Barkley Square Pet Spa will be hosting a Pet Mobile Spa. Visit the Braddock Bark Facebook page for more information.
