Press release from the City of San Antonio: Thursday, June 2, 2022 CONTACT: Rosana Galaviz [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (June 2, 2022) — At the welcome reception for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2022 Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program, District 4 Councilwoman Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia was presented with the Gerencia Con Corazón Award. During the welcome reception for this year's cohort, the Councilwoman was surprised with this distinguished honor recognizing contributions to the San Antonio community. During his 24-year public service career, former City Manager, Alexander Briseño developed his philosophy of "Gerencia Con Corazón", or "Management with a Heart", or compassion for the people you serve and with whom you serve. As a proud San Antonian, Mr. Briseño utilized innovative and immersive methods to lead and manage a team of public service professionals throughout his career. At the core of his leadership philosophy are the principles of vision, integrity, passion, courage, creativity, diligence, accessibility and competency. To honor his legacy, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce created the Alex Briseño Leadership Development Program. Since 2001, ABDLP has inspired and prepared many community leaders who have had a lasting positive impact in San Antonio and across the country. ABDLP Participants are immersed in educational sessions covering a range of topics and presented with opportunities to make positive changes in our local community. Topics include strategic planning, leading and managing change, building great teams, improving quality both operationally and culturally, and creating and sustaining professional and organizational results. In addition to developing individual and organizational leadership acumen, the program serves as a social innovation accelerator to foster social and economic impact action teams. The District 4 Councilwoman's work in the public sector has earned the Councilwoman recognition for an outstanding ability to lead while empowering people. As an educator, the District 4 Councilwoman is committed to helping develop tomorrow's leaders with compassion and an understanding that paving the way for others is paramount for transformational change.
