FLORIDA — From rising gas prices to higher food costs, most Floridians are worried about the economy and inflation, according to a new survey by Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Overwhelmingly, 91 percent of Floridians said they are very concerned or concerned with the current rate of inflation. As a result, many are cutting back on food, travel and entertainment. Credit: Florida Atlantic University Around 85 percent of Floridians consider the cost of living/inflation as the highest priority for the country to address — more so than abortion, the war in Ukraine, COVID-19, immigration and education. Credit: Credit: Florida Atlantic University Over 53 percent of Floridians also say that the increase in prices for goods and services has greatly impacted their finances. According to the survey, the majority of Floridians —60.5 percent —are concerned about the increasing cost of housing and homeowners' insurance. The online survey was administered in Florida on May 20-22, 2022, through Dynata, a company that specializes in survey sampling and data collection. Five hundred thirty-two people took part in the survey.
