The incident occurred at Ace Hardware on James Island's Folly Road around 3:32 p.m. The explosion wounded two individuals with non-life-threatening injuries. The department has not released information on how the tank exploded. (WCBD News 2)The South Carolina Aquarium will be hosting a JuLionfish Derby and Festival on Jul. 29. This is the first time the aquarium is hosting this particular event. The month-long event is meant to raise awareness regarding the negative impact this invasive species has on the local ecosystem. Divers will compete to collect and remove as many lionfish as possible from local reefs. The 1,000-pound brass statue was reportedly stolen on May 27 by James Donald Petty, 29, and Joshua Lewis Petty, 44. They have been charged with one count each of possessing stolen goods and malicious damage to property.
