BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A woman is being held without bail Monday after police said she hit a patrol car Saturday, Dec. 26. The vehicle she was driving was stolen, according to authorities. Jumana Abdel-Hamid Alhamarneh, 33, whose address is listed as Chevy Chase in online court records, is charged with being a fugitive from justice. She had been staying with someone in Pennsylvania before stealing the person's Lincoln Town Car Friday night, officials said. As Pennsylvania State Police officers were investigating the case, authorities said Alhamarneh crashed the stolen car into a Baltimore County patrol vehicle in the 8700 block of Pulaski Highway. Police said the patrol officer was hit by the stolen vehicle just after midnight Saturday while he was inside his car on the lookout for impaired drivers. The officer was taken to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where authorities report he was treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. He has since been released, officials said Monday. Police said the driver was taken to an area hospital, where she was expected to survive. She is slated to appear for a hearing April 5, 2021, in Baltimore County District Court.
