We are partnering with churches across the world bringing opportunities to serve their local communities and share the love of God through practical acts of kindness. There are several new Serve Day Teams going out to serve our community this year, so be sure to read all of these options and select the "ticket" for the group you will be joining. 1) Serve Day for Kids or Childcare for smaller children - A place for children to have the opportunity to serve in a safe environment. Also, a place for parents to leave their smaller children while they serve. There will be crafts and fun events planned. 2) Morning Pointe Senior Assisted Living - Join this team as they head out to love on the senior citizens in this community. 3) Parkview Retirement Community - This group is still in the planning process; however, we will be working with the staff to fellowship with and love on the senior citizens in this community in the way that best suits their needs. 4) Young Williams Animal Center - This team will assist in toy prep, cleaning, dishes, laundry and any thing else the facility could possibly need. And of course there will be plenty of time to love on the animals. 5) Serving Those Who Serve - This group will meet at the church and will be in charge of preparing an environment of celebration for those who are out serving to come back for refreshment and fellowship. This team will be providing the “after-party” by setting up the tables and chairs and celebrating the wins of the day. The meal will be catered in, so light set up will be required, and clean-up afterward. Lastly this team will also help pack Teacher Appreciation Boxes. 6) DCS Foster Care - This team will deep clean 4 visitation rooms and 3 interview rooms. We will also go through toys and replace any broken ones with new ones. We want this to be a clean and friendly environment for the children and their families. 7) Honoring our Firefighters - This team will hand out boxed lunches to many fire departments in Knoxville and Seymour. These hard-working men and women serve our city bravely every day, so we will be thanking them through good food and offering prayer to them as well. 8) Johnson University - Trail building 8 miles that will be made will make accessible for to the public. No one under the age of 16. Manual labor is involved 9) ACCH Senior Yard Work or other household needs – This team will be splitting up and heading out to some of our church members' homes that need some yard work or house cleaning assistance. 10) KARM - Feeding the homeless - We will deliver mid-morning food to the homeless inside the KARM homeless shelter in downtown Knoxville. 11) Chilhowee Intermediate School - This team will help build 2 new flower beds in the front of the school. 12) Fort Sanders ICU Waiting Room Care - We are giving out snacks, crossword puzzles, water, etc to people waiting for their loved ones in the hospital. We will also visit nurses stations to pray over the staff. 13) Brunch Bunch - Delivering lunch, flowers and balloons to ACCH members that are homebound due to illness/injury and are unable to attend on a regular basis at the moment. 14) Undecided/Floater (Place me where needed) - Too many choices or just don't care where you serve? After all the numbers are in we will place you on the team with the most need for volunteers.
