NORWALK, CT — No one was injured but a boat is submerged under the water of Long Island Sound after an incident Saturday afternoon off Norwalk.
According to the Norwalk Police Department's Twitter feed at about 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the department's marine unit was called to action to respond to a report of a vessel taking on water.
Police said the incident happened between Greens Ledge and Roton Point.
Luckily, the two people on board the boat were picked up by a passing boat and were not hurt, according to police, who picked up the duo and brought them to shore.
Unluckily for the boat, the 48-foot vessel is no longer floating and sunk in 20 feet of water, police said.
Norwalk police said efforts are underway for Sea Tow Services International, Inc., to try and recover the vessel if possible.
