48-foot Vessel Sinks Off Norwalk Coast

NORWALK, CT — No one was injured but a boat is submerged under the water of Long Island Sound after an incident Saturday afternoon off Norwalk. According to the Norwalk Police Department's Twitter feed at about 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the department's marine unit was called to action to respond to a report of a vessel taking on water. Police said the incident happened between Greens Ledge and Roton Point. Luckily, the two people on board the boat were picked up by a passing boat and were not hurt, according to police, who picked up the duo and brought them to shore. Unluckily for the boat, the 48-foot vessel is no longer floating and sunk in 20 feet of water, police said.
