Update: Crash Cleared On Route 9 In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A two-vehicle accident on Route 9 Saturday afternoon had motorists on alert earlier, but it has since been cleared, according to the state Department of Transportation. DOT officials said the accident was on the northbound side of the state highway, between exits 11 and 15, resulting in the right-hand lane being closed. The DOT said the crash happened at about 3:06 p.m. Saturday, with the cleanup time not known. By 3:34 p.m. Saturday, however, the DOT announced on its Twitter feed that the accident had been cleared.
