BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police are investigating two related stabbings from early Sunday, in which one of the victims died, and the other victim was hospitalized in critical condition, according to authorities. The stabbings occurred outside of Club Azul on the corner of Federal Street and Madison Avenue in Bridgeport, and were reported at about 1:55 a.m. Bridgeport police said that the victim who died was a 25-year-old from the city; the victim in critical condition is a 27-year-old man also from Bridgeport. Authorities did not release the identities of either victim. The 27-year-old suffered a deep wound/laceration to his torso. As Bridgeport police were dealing with the 27-year-old, officers learned of "a second victim that had arrived at an area hospital via private vehicle with life-threatening stab wounds to his torso, head, and extremities." This was the 25-year-old victim. "Both assaults appear to be related and both appear to have taken place outside the establishment on Federal Street," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement. "The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau has taken charge of the investigation. A crime scene along Federal Street and Madison Avenue was processed early Sunday morning." Anyone with information about these crimes is urged to contact Bridgeport Police Homicide Detective Keith Hanson at 203-581-5243, or use the Bridgeport Police Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
