BEL AIR, MD — A Harford County sergeant raised more than $5,000 for the Humane Society of Harford County in a matter of weeks leading up to the Bel Air Town Run. As a result of his fund-raiser, Sgt. Phillips was joined by other members of the sheriff's office Sunday during the Bel Air Town Run. While others laced up their tennis shoes, Phillips and four other members of the Harford County Sheriff's Office suited up in tactical gear and carried a ram as promised to their followers for donating hundreds of dollars. "We set a goal of $2,500, and we raised ended up raising over $5,000," Phillips said after the race. "I can't thank you enough! So, until next year, thank you!" This spring, Phillips decided to participate in the Bel Air Run in full gear to support The Humane Society of Harford County, according to the sheriff's office, which reported for each $500 raised, he added some gear. Once he met his goal of $2,500, other members joined his team. "Thank you to everyone who supported this challenge and followed our journey," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Can't wait to see what they do next!"
